FAQ

Who the f**ck is CWILLI?

Created by Chris Williford, CWILLI is an experimental fashion label that blends DIY ethos, pop-punk aesthetics, and community impact.
Growing up in Texas, Chris escaped into drawing characters and collecting toys, which led him to pursue a practice in the graphic arts. He is an alumnus of both the Maryland Institute College of Art (BFA, 2015) and the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (MFA, 2018). Trained as a printmaker, his background is rooted in silkscreening and material experimentation. His interest in fashion emerged after moving to Chicago, where exposure to designers such as Martin Margiela expanded his understanding of garments as a medium for artistic intervention.
In 2024, Chris's textile work was published internationally by Abrams Books as part of A Great Gay Book.

When do you make work?
